hello!

there is no end of my problems...
today i've donwloaded the complete MiKTeX package version 2.5

my steps:
uninstall miktex 2.4
reboot
install "basic" 2.5 (with option of installing missing packages
on-the-fly)

BUT:
after compiling LaTeX => pdf (which needs more time, IMHO) i looked at
the document with foxitreader and it was terrible
please look at the picture here to see the difference between the
written text and the nabla-operator:

Loading Image...

what is the problem here and what can i do to get back the "clean" fonts?

thanks, robert

PS: i also tryied to uninstall version 2.5 and to install 2.4, but the
message occured that my compute isn't able to be configured for miktex.
PPS: sorry for my bad english

I suppose you are using the T1 coding for your text with
\usepackage[T1]{fontenc} in your preamble. In this case, the regularly
Computer Modern Type 1 Fonts are missing and that's why you only get
crappy bitmap fonts in your PDF.

Install the font package "cm-super" or "lmodern" with the help of the
MiKTeX Package Manager. If you want to use the Latin Modern Fonts, you
have to add \usepackage{lmodern} to your preamble.

Alex
