Hello All,
I am new to TeXnicCenter, just started using few weeks back. I am able to make reports and other regulat documents. Now I want to make my presentation in PDF for my next conference. I am able to do somepart of it but struck with some too. I have few question which are below. I will appriciate, if anyone can guide me to the previous related help on the group or answer it.

1. I am not able to include figures saying 'Figure enveronment not included'? Whatever i include for normal report is already included. So I do not know how to go about it?
2. Is it true that I will NOT be able to do animation in PDF presentation?

I have few more questions but I guess I will see if above problems are sloved before going further. Any kind of help is appriciated. Even if you have some clue about above, you are better than me!!!!

best regards,
Gulshan

I am not quite sure what you mean here.

Take no. 2; do you mean `add items in a list to the previous material'
when you say `animate'? This depends on which package you are using;
Prosper and Beamer will both do this. If you mean animate a graph showing
different stages of the process, then that is a different matter.

I don't know what you mean by no. 1; a small sample of LaTeX input,
including packages would be helpful.

Please note that this conference is for TeXnicCenter, and not for TeX; you
should try http://www.latex-community.org/ for these questions.

Hello,
Thanks John and Andreas for your reply.

John, I am sorry if I am not able to explain it properly, my question is related to TeXnic center only. I am trying to make presentation using documentclass 'slides' class in TeXnic Center.
Once I creat my new project with document class slides. It has three vertical pages (Portrait), I can rotate these to horizontal (landscpae), than it looks perfect for presentation (just like/better than in microsoft PPT). I am able to do everything needed in my presentation expect from inculding figures.
I included all kind of packages for including figures (See below).
First of all as soon as I include PP4SLIDES, it gives error (I could guess that if I include PP4SLIDES I have to follow some specific format).
Second will all these packages included, whenever I am trying to include any figure in .eps or .jpg or .ps or .gif figure/picture. It does not recognise the format/figure/picture.

PACKAGE USED:-
%\usepackage{pp4slide}
\usepackage{amsmath}
\usepackage{amsfonts}
\usepackage{amssymb}
\usepackage{graphicx}
\usepackage{color}
\usepackage{pause}
\usepackage{background}
\usepackage{pifont}
\usepackage{picins}
\usepackage{floatflt}
\usepackage{setspace}
\usepackage{graphfig}
\usepackage{epsfig}
\usepackage{psfig}
\usepackage{alltt}
\usepackage{moreverb}
\usepackage{verbatim}
\usepackage{graphics}
\usepackage{hyperref}
\hypersetup{
pdfmenubar=true,
pdftoolbar=true,
pdfpagemode={None}
}

CODE USED TO INCLUDE FIGURES
\begin{figure}[hbtp]
\includegraphics[height=40mm]{hump1.ps}
\includegraphics[angle=120, height=20mm]{hump20.eps}
\caption{Tigers}
\end{figure}

\begin{figure}
\begin{center}
\epsfig{file=hump1.ps,height=8cm,width=10cm}
\caption{Bimodal functions with equal and unequal peaks.}
\label{fig:bimodal}
\end{center}
\end{figure}

I AM SURE, I AM DOING SOME MISTAKE SOMEWHERE, BUT NOT ABLE TO FIGURE OUT WHERE?

Gulshan

Gulshan,

How are you compiling your LaTeX? Is it through pdflatex, in which case
your graphics file must be one of .png, .pdf or .jpg. If you use .eps
files, latex and view it in windvi, then you won't see the graphics files.
For .eps extension, use latex, then dvips and then view in gsview.

Basically some viewers may not see all graphic file formats, and latex
compilation may read only some graphics files.

Gulshan,

You can use the beamer class with TXC. I always use it for my
presentations and it works fine. Just check that it's correctly
installed in your TeX release (if that's MikTeX use the package
manager) and that everything is ok in your preamble. Check the
beamer class user guide for more details. Take care: usually is
better not to use floats for inserting figures in a presentation.
Below is a simple example code:

\documentclass[english,10pt,landscape]{beamer} %different options are possible
\mode<beamer> %the specific theme for you presentation can be indicated here
\usepackage[ansinew]{inputenc}

\begin{document}

\begin{frame}
\frametitle{Slide 1}
\includegraphics[width=1\textwidth]{yourfigure} %insert the name of
your figure without extension
\end{frame}

\end{document}

All the best,
Giangiacomo
