Unable install new packages

Hi,

I am new to latex. I downloaded complete Miktex 2.5 (43.6MB) and
Texniccentre 1 Beta 7.01 installed. The computer has windows xp
professional operating system. When I tried to include new packages
epsfig, etc. install package menu appears, and its asking for local
package repositories path. I dont know which path to give. I tried
c:\program files\miktex 2.5 and other related. Its not working. I tried
also package manager tool. Its also fails.

My system is not connected with internet.

Please inform me how to install the needed packages.

Please inform me how to install the needed packages.

The easiest way to install new packages is to use the package manager
from MikTeX. Just state and click the wanted package and it will be
installed.
But in any way - also for the other methods - you have to be connected
to the internet, because the packages have to be downloaded to your
computer first.

Hi, your local package repositories is the INTERNET, since you didn't
donwload the full version.
Top download a new package, start the miktex Package-Manager and select
the package you need.
If it doesn't work:
1.) Check, if your local package repositories is an internet server near
your location.
2.) If you have a firewall, it could be, that the firewall doesn't allow
miktex to install anything. In this cases, you have to
stop the firewall for a while.
