Dear Users,

Is there any way to set in TexnicCenter the compilation to the pdf file

without the need of closing the pdf file.

I'd like texniccenter close automatically the pdf file and open it after

compilation in the same place as before.

This is the way winedt works (http://www.winedt. com/)

Please help

Sebastian

Hi,

try PDFill PDF Editor - it has two components. The
PDFill part edits any PDF document to the desired
style and the tool part that does many things
including coverting any ps2pdf. The tool part is free
but the PDFill is shareware.
It is downloadable from the web. Simply google search
by typing in PDFill and you are done!

If you have a profile that creates ps then after you create the postscript.

Create a new profile PS => PDF
Leave the (La)TEX blank, do not check BibTEX, and MakeIndex and go to postprocessor
and make a new one name it ps2pdf
ps2pdf

XX = 54, 56 depending on the ghostscript that you have installed.
If you do not have it installed, download and install it.

Executable: C:\gs\gs8.XX\bin\gswin32c.exe
Arguments: -sPAPERSIZE=letter -dSAFER -dBATCH -dNOPAUSE -sDEVICE=pdfwrite
-sOutputFile="%bm.pdf" -c save pop -f "%bm.ps"
Input Redirection:
Output Redirection:

View project's output
Path of executable
C:\PROGRAM FILES\ADOBE\ACROBAT X.0\READER\ACRORD32.EXE

X: could be 6, 7 or the new one 8.0
View project's output: DDE Command
Command: [DocOpen("%bm.pdf")][FileOpen("%bm.pdf")]
server: acroview Topic: control

Forward search: DDE Command
Command: [DocOpen("%bm.pdf")][FileOpen("%bm.pdf")]
server: acroview Topic: control

Close Document before running LaTEX: DDE Command
Command: [DocClose("%bm.pdf")]
server: acroview Topic: control

That should do it for you.
If you are running adobe 8.0, in the commands to open and close, add
an extra [DocOpen("%bm.pdf")] to each one, since if it is not there
adobe crashes.
Regards,
Antonio

I am using acrobat 8.0 and it does crash. How do you
exactly add an extra [DocOpen("%bm.pdf")]? Can you
paste your configuration? Also my path of executable

Should it be downloaded separately?

Thanks,

Put [DocOpen("%bm. pdf")] in place of * and it should
work. Got that from new forum and it has alleviated
the problem both in Vista and XP. Copy and paste it
and it should work.

View project's output: DDE Command

Forward search: DDE Command

Close Document before running LaTEX: DDE Command
