Dear all,
Is it possible to change the default white bakckground in the IDE? I wanted to change it to either gray or black so as not to stress my eyes but there seems to be no way to do this. In WinEdt for example, it is possible to change the background scheme of the IDE. If anyone knows how to change the background color please advise.

Hi Rajiv,

you have to go to the "Tools" -> "Options" Menu

In the "Options" window you have to select the "Text Format" Tab.

In the "Colors" arera select the item "text background" and choose
your favorite color.

Dear all,

Hi,
Thanks for your reply! I tried the thing u suggested but only the text background color could get changed not the entire background. Actually I wanted the entire background to become black. The method u suggested just makes the background immediately behind the text change color.

Can you pls le t me know how to make the entire background black?

spaces" ...

Dear All,

In connection to Rajiv question, IMHO, if TeXnicCenter can provide a new set
of color scheme which has a dark background and colors for text and commands
that match to the background, I think I also would love to use such a
scheme. Btw, gVIM coloring scheme seems nice.
