...over mikTeX. Everything seems to be ok except for the tex to pdf
compilation. ther are no warnings or errors from the compiler, pbut it
doesn't generate a file and when the command goes to Adobe Reader it
fails to find the file. Any ideas what I missed in the installation?

which commands do you use for compilation and pdf conversion?

One problem that I have had, and corrected, is that of the direction of
slashes in the build profiles.

If you use lower case letters, e.g. `b', `w', then the path name is
\folder\subfolder\ \ldots; if you use upper case letters, e.g. `B', `W',
then the path name is /folder/subfolder/ \ldots.

Try this change.

John

I was hesitant to change the slashes in a windows enviroment, but while I
was dithering I reslected the pdflatex.exe in the build profiles dialog box.
Now it works??????
That's a bit bizarre, but what ever works. Thanks for the help

I'm not using the command line, I have the output profile set to
LaTeX=>PDF and then if I use either "build file" followed by "View
Output" or, in one step "Build and View Current File" I get the same
result. The file builds without error or warnings, but Adobe reader
fails as there is no pdf file to be opened.
Thanks for the response.
