Hi, when trying to read the output "latex to dvi" I get the messages:

* The document cannot be rendered properly because the current render
method does not support PostScript specials. Temporarily switch to the DVIPS
render method? And later
* This is dvips(k) 5.96 2007 Radical Eye Software. . Couldn't find
header file arial pfb. Note that an absolute path or an relative path with .
are denied in R2 mode.

How can I avoid this messages (I have just installed Miktex 2.6). Have I to
go back to Miktex 2.5 or 2.4?

Best regards

Alfred:

For question 1), you can change the configuration in
Yap. For 2), I don't have an answer.

Hi,

Problem one: as Qinjun Kang rightfully remarks, one has to switch to DVIPS
in YAP (View, rendering method).

Problem two: this is also a problem in YAP, i.e. Miktex. The older versions
did not know the Arial-font either, but tolerated it (how??). The latest one
explicitly says that is has no Areal-font. So what to do? One can open the
.eps-file containing the Arial-font with wordpad and change it to Helvetica.
May be that the code contains something for adding the code for the Euro
sign, which makes things even more complicated.

As Arial is a font use in scientific programs as "simulink", it doesn't seem
to be a good idea not to have the Areal code in DVIPS.
