Has anybody ever run TeXnicCenter from a USB flash drive? Will it
work, and if it does, is there a way to carry the saved settings from
one computer to the next? Do all of the settings get stored in the
registry?
For a little background, here's what I'm doing: I have a 128MB USB
flash drive that I use as my portable LaTeX environment so I can
create TeX documents (and subsequently PDF, PS, etc.) on any Windows
machines I happen to be using. So far, I can fit MiKTeX ("small"
version + a few extra packages), Vim, Aspell, SciTE, ISpell, Texmaker,
and UnxUtils, and still have 6 MB free for documents. I would love to
have TeXnicCenter as well (and probably sacrifice something else).
Thanks,

except LaTeX which I am trying to figure out how to make portable.
Blake, could you share how you managed to get the small MikTeX to be
happy on your USB flash drive? I put the new locations in the path
but it still says "I can't find the default format file."
Thanks...
