I have used \raggedbottom in the preamble of my document (report
class) to avoid the large white spaces that sometimes appear between
floats and text, particularily at the end of a chapter when a page
break is forced.
However, the insertion of \raggedbottom produced no change, and I
still get skips that could fit several lines of text - even in cases
when the following page begin with some lines of plain text.
I've also tried resetting the text-float separation, using
\setlength{\textfloatsep}{20pt), hoping this would "un-elasticize"
the space between figures and text, but no luck
Any ideas would be very appreciated!
