Hi

How do i open an external document such as a pdf, jpg, doc, or xls from latex? Im doing a presentation slide in latex which I would view using acrobat (i.e. pdf). On the slide, i would like to have a link to an external file e.g. xls. I would like to open the Excel from the slide I'm doing in latex. Is there anyone who's done this before? Please help!!!!

\Truword

The hyperref package allows you to access external and internal links.

I think that \href{c:\my documents\excel\presentation.xls}{Excel results}
will show `Excel results' on your slide, and clicking on it will give you
that file in Excel.

I have used Alt+Tab to toggle between two programs, Acrobat for slides,
the other for programmes such as Mathcad or Maple.
