opening external document

Hi John,

thanks for the response below. I found another way of running an external program from pdf created in latex. Use \href{run:<filepath>}. this should open the external program in another window.

The hyperref package allows you to access external and internal links.



I think that \href{c:\my documents\excel\ presentation. xls}{Excel results}

will show `Excel results' on your slide, and clicking on it will give you

that file in Excel.



I have used Alt+Tab to toggle between two programs, Acrobat for slides,

the other for programmes such as Mathcad or Maple.
